The collaborative significantly expanded my understanding of climate change, its urgency and the responsibility I have to teach it in my classes.  Before the collaborative I thought that teaching climate change meant teaching the human enhanced greenhouse effect and about various greenhouse gasses; however, the collaborative has shifted my perspective opening my eyes to the importance of a diverse approach that includes solutions, policy, and student advocacy and action.  I am grateful for the opportunity to have collaborated with motivated teachers from across the country and look forward to putting ideas from the collaborative into action in my classes this year! – Elysia Jellema (West Point Grey Academy)
