Cleaning up After Big Name Brands

The world’s largest consumer goods companies are creating plastic waste that piles up in landfills and oceans. And their logo is everywhere. While they have been working hard to improve their corproate image, Tom Szaky has a different strategy for them, that seems to be taking off. He is the founder and CEO of TerraCycle, who has not created an innovative service – LOOP – that he says beckons back to the days of the milk delivery people of the past.  Big name companies like Tide, Häagen-Dazs, Pantene and Gilette have devised new reusable packages where participants pay a refundable deposit, throw the containers into a Loop tote and they are picked up, cleaned and returned to the companies to reuse again. Learn More or visit the Loop website.
