Drinking Water Made from Air
A new start up is changing the way we get energy and water. Applying thermodynamics, materials science, and controls technology, SOURCE needs only sunlight and air to make drinking water. Founded by Cody Friesen, a materials scientist, the startup (Zero Mass Water) relies on an ultra-absorbent material that collects water at 20,000 times the concentration of the air around it. The setup is powered by solar panels, so it has no carbon footprint. The result, about 10 litres per day of clean drinking water for a 2 panel system. Learn More.
