Sunlight Turned into Fuel: One Step Closer

An international team of researchers from the University of Cambridge and the Ruhr University Bochum have devised a “proof-of-principle” method to split water molecules into their constituent parts, hydrogen and oxygen, using sunlight. This is a milestone in the field of semi-artificial photosynthesis and could one day lead to this approach being used for hydrogen powered automobiles and other contexts.  Learn more.
